On Wednesday, March 29, 2017 Riverdale Senior Services held a special Performance Showcase Workshop, “Riverdale’s Got Talent.”. It started as a special project that the Columbia University students spearheaded as part of their internship assignment at RSS. The event featured members performing and volunteering their time, promoting the showcase, signing up member performers and creating and distributing flyers. The show was a tremendous success.!
Many of the RSS center members performed individual acts in the show along with several RSS groups (Chorus, Belly Dancing, Mindful Movement and Qi Gong/Tia Chi ).
We had 34 members performing with an audience of over an additional 40 people.
The event was supported by a great blend of staff, volunteers and members. All in all over 75 people were entertained and left encouraged to participate in future shows and become members of one or more of the center classes who performed.
