One of my goals is to have weekends filled with plans and fun activities pretty much to avoid weekends like the one we just had. Sitting at my computer for hours on end researching something fun for all of us to do together. I felt so frustrated and stuck that I couldn’t find anything that not only we would ALL agree on, but that I could get myself excited about.
You’d think living here in NYC we wouldn’t have this issue, right?!?⠀

The whole problem was I couldn’t decide. I was stuck in research mode, trying to find something perfect that would inspire me.

Finally at 7:30 Sunday eve I said that’s it – I’m going out! All it took was a decision to take action. I got dressed, got in my car with the intention of going to the High Line. As I was driving down the West Side Highway I noticed how picturesque the Hudson River looked so it inspired me to take a detour and get off at the 79th St. Boat Basin. ⠀

My mood instantly changed! Taking action, a change of scenery, nice weather and camera in hand.⠀I was inspired by the view and used that time to be creative with my camera. When it got too dark, I headed over to the nearby Barnes & Noble and browsed through magazines and cookbooks – more creative inspiration!!
All it took was for me to get out of my own way, make a decision and not wait to please everyone.
If you find yourself stuck, feeling paralyzed and frustrated – whether it’s business or personal – take note of it and just DECIDE and TAKE ACTION – no matter how small and imperfect!
Step away from the computer, get yourself out of research mode and get into DOING mode!
