New Vision Board Party & Workshop 2018

Sometimes there’s pressure when the new year arrives to feel like you have to have everything figured out for the next 12 months ahead.  We have to feel motivated – 365 opportunities to start fresh!

But what happens if you don’t have everything all figured out?  We start to feel bad about ourselves like we’re already falling behind even though it’s only halfway into the FIRST month!  That’s way too much pressure!

If you need a dose of inspiration and help creating an action plan, I’m so excited to announce I’ll be hosting a Vision Board Party & Workshop  on January 23, 2018.    I did one last year (you can read about it here) and it was so much fun!!

Visualize to Materialize - Vision Board Party!

It’s totally FREE and you’ll get to network with other female creatives.  There’s a certain energy that transpires when people meet in person and cheer each other on.

Just like last year, our party is being held at the KRVC office in Riverdale, NY.  We’ll start at 7pm and have refreshments and all the tools necessary to create an inspiring vision board for 2018.  If you have any magazines you want to bring to share with the group that would be amazing!

To save your spot and RSVP,  send an email to my friends over at KRVC.

Excited to see you there next week!

Fall Freebies For Instagram

Hello first day of Fall!⠀
⠀
Are you as excited as I am?  It’s my favorite time of year for so many reasons –  cooler weather means I can wear cute sweaters and boots and have great hair days. I can drink hot apple cider, take my girls to pick pumpkins and drive up to the country to see the magical colors of the foliage.⠀Plus there are lots of celebrations – Halloween and Thanksgiving (my 2 favorite holidays) along with lots of family birthdays (including mine in November).
⠀
So much natural inspiration –  great backdrops and locations for photo shoots and photo walks.⠀
⠀
Now’s the time to start integrating some Fall images into your Instagram feed.  To get you started I added 3 new Fall graphics and 3 new Fall photographs into the LHN Creative Resource library.

Fall Freebies

You can download , post as is, add text or your favorite motivational quote.

Some suggested hashtags for this time of year are #fall2017 #firstdayoffall #ilovefall and #fallfoliage.  If you use any of the photos or graphics use the hashtag #lhnfreebies so I can follow along and see how creative you were with your posts.

Summer of YOUR Success

Only 2 weeks ago my girls finished school and now we’re in full blown summer mode.  New schedules, new routines, camp, humidity, bad hair days, constant A/C and lots of ice pops!

Gone are the days (at least until September) of having consistent 6 hour blocks of time to work on my biz.

On days that they’re not in camp they still expect to be entertained.

By ME!

When the girls wake you’d think I’d hear “Good morning mom” but instead it’s “Mom – what are we doing today?!?”

Ummm…Watch me sit at my computer?!?

Come with me on a photoshoot?

I can’t really see why neither of those 2 options are appealing to them but I guess we’ve got to do some adjusting.

Don’t get me wrong – I want to have a fun summer with them but I also want to still keep the momentum going in my business and personal development.   These are a few of the things I do:

  • I wake up early and get stuff done while they sleep – the most important things because that’s when I have alone time to focus.
  • I continue to work on my mindset daily through reading, journaling and audios.
  • I joined and paid for 2 group coaching programs related to mindset and goals to give me accountability and keep me on track.
  • I go to events with successful entrepreneurs where I continue to learn, uplevel and make connections.
  • I make things that are important to me and my biz a priority and schedule them in.  My girls do sometimes have to work around MY schedule!
  • I get my husband to split the activity time on days they’re not in camp.

I want to help you to have a Summer of Success – to keep the momentum going so you don’t get caught up in the start and stop cycle of your business.  I created 2 special options this summer so that when Fall rolls around, you’re not starting from scratch.

Summer of Your Success Private and Group Coaching

The program is called Summer of Your Success and I have both 1:1 and group coaching options.  I only have 5 spots available for the 1:1 so if you think you may be interested, get in touch so we can see if we’re a good fit.  The group option is great if you’re looking for bite sized daily actions – tell a friend and do it together!

All of the details for both options are over on the Summer of Your Success page.

We can do this together – bad hair days and all!

Free Instagram Stock Images

Free Instagram stock Images

I think I’ve said it before but Instagram by far is my favorite social media platform.  As a photographer, I love how visual it is!

If you’re a photographer, artist, crafter, chef or any other creative, it’s a great platform to show off your work – given that you have great images!  Your feed is basically your online gallery – like a mini website!

To keep your current followers and potential future followers interested, It’s also a good idea to mix up your feed a bit so it’s not 100% of your product shots.  That could get pretty boring.

So what do you do?  You can take your own pictures or look for stock images.

I’d like to help you out once a month by giving you an image that you can use on your feed.  I’ll create a design for the month with 3 different backgrounds – white, black and either cork or natural wood.

If any of them fit your aesthetics, feel free to use them.  If you’d like to credit me – that would be amazing (@life.happens.now)  but if not I just really hope I can be of some help in some small way to at least make one day easier. 🙂

This is the design for January – you still have half the month to fit it into your feed.

Click the image below

to get access to my creative resources library.

You’ll be able to download from there and each month new images will be added.

If you end up using them, share your Instagram account in the comments below so I can check out your feed!

Tips For Creating A Vision Board + Party Recap

The beginning of a new year seems to be the time when everyone is crazy about setting their goals.  You really don’t need to wait until a certain time to do it – JUST DO IT!

To help in your goal setting, I suggest creating a vision board.  If you’re new to this idea – let me explain.

I know for me as a creative, I like visuals.  It inspires me and helps me to imagine things better.  A vision board can be used as a visual representation of your goals.  Say for example a goal is to have  a new car – find a picture of the exact make and model car that you want and glue that to your board.

Steps for creating a vision board:

1 – The supplies

  • Board – this is like your blank canvas.  Some suggestions are a white poster board, foam board, bulletin board
  • Scissors
  • Glue , tape or push pins
  • Magazines to cut up

2 – Think about what you want for the  coming year.  I’ve created a worksheet to help you in the planning process.  I broke it down into 4 different areas – BE, DO, HAVE and FEEL

3 – Start going through magazines and look for images and words that represent what you want

4 – Put your finished vision board in a place where you can see it every day.  You’re training your mind to expect these things to happen.  You are Visualizing to Materialize!

Remember this is an ever evolving process.  As you reach a goal you can take it off of your vision board and replace it with new things.  It’s really up to you how you want to use it.

A couple of months ago I taught a workshop on creating vision boards for local female creatives in Riverdale, NY.  It was amazing!

To host this event, I teamed up with my friend Linda Manning – a playwright, screenwriter and actor.

Linda Manning & Stacey Natal

We held it at the KRVC office near Riverdale Avenue.  We had about a dozen people and KRVC was generous to supply the space and refreshments!

It felt so rewarding to create an opportunity for local creatives to come together to connect, establish new relationships and start to intentionally put into place what they’d like to create in their life and business for the upcoming new year.   Linda and I worked really well together – balancing each other out by bringing in our own unique perspectives and interests to create a cohesive inspiring workshop for all that attended.

Linda and I each attend  meetups with other creatives in the city and felt there was a need to bring that same energy here to Riverdale.  As a coach, I’m working with entrepreneurial moms to help them think bigger for their lives and businesses so we wanted to share the techniques we  both use to stay inspired and bust through our limiting beliefs.  It opened up a conversation with the group and allowed for a safe space to share thoughts and ideas.

It was a wonderful experience.  I enjoyed sharing it with everyone.  Stacey and Linda were terrific.  It was lead in such a natural, open and beautiful way — thought provoking and stimulating, definitely meaningful evening for me.  Opened up new ideas.

If you want to get started with your own vision board – (and you definitely should!),  get yourself a board, glue sticks, scissors and some magazines that you can cut up.  There are 4 key areas to think about when creating your vision boards.  I created a PDF for you to download with prompts in each of the 4 key areas.  Click the image below to get a copy and get started.
