Feel The Power of Inspired Action: Mindset Monday

***Mindset Monday***⠀

Feel teh power of inspired action

Feel the power of INSPIRED action!⠀
⠀
There’s such a difference between INSPIRED action and FORCED action. ⠀
⠀
Inspired action is when all of a sudden an idea comes to you and you get excited and the action you take feels effortless. You’re having fun and it feels amazing!⠀
⠀
Forced action is exactly that – when you’re trying to force something to happen. It feels desperate and like you’re pushing up against something. There’s no joy in forced action.  Only the feeling of “have to”.⠀
⠀
You will definitely get better results from inspired action.⠀

When and how does inspired action come?

I find it’s usually when you’re NOT thinking about it!  Let’s say you want to write a blog post but you can’t come up with an idea.  You research, you write lists, you’re trying to force ideas to come to you.  Nothing!!

When you put it to the side, and do something different like put on music, or go for a walk or read a book,  that’s when all of a sudden it will “hit” you!  Haven’t you heard people say their best ideas come from the shower?  Because they’re relaxed and not thinking about it.  Clear your mind to allow fresh new ideas to come through.
⠀
I was up late last night, watching some videos when all of a sudden an idea came to mind. A way for me to combine my natural gift of photography with my love of helping female entrepreneurs.  I’m so excited about it and will be taking INSPIRED action on it today!⠀
⠀
Stay tuned…Excited to announce my new offering!
⠀
If you want more motivation for today, listen to this Abraham Hicks Rampage on Inspired Action video on YouTube. It’s great!⠀

Comment below and tell me what you’re inspired to do today.

Tips For Creating A Vision Board + Party Recap

The beginning of a new year seems to be the time when everyone is crazy about setting their goals.  You really don’t need to wait until a certain time to do it – JUST DO IT!

To help in your goal setting, I suggest creating a vision board.  If you’re new to this idea – let me explain.

I know for me as a creative, I like visuals.  It inspires me and helps me to imagine things better.  A vision board can be used as a visual representation of your goals.  Say for example a goal is to have  a new car – find a picture of the exact make and model car that you want and glue that to your board.

Steps for creating a vision board:

1 – The supplies

  • Board – this is like your blank canvas.  Some suggestions are a white poster board, foam board, bulletin board
  • Scissors
  • Glue , tape or push pins
  • Magazines to cut up

2 – Think about what you want for the  coming year.  I’ve created a worksheet to help you in the planning process.  I broke it down into 4 different areas – BE, DO, HAVE and FEEL

3 – Start going through magazines and look for images and words that represent what you want

4 – Put your finished vision board in a place where you can see it every day.  You’re training your mind to expect these things to happen.  You are Visualizing to Materialize!

Remember this is an ever evolving process.  As you reach a goal you can take it off of your vision board and replace it with new things.  It’s really up to you how you want to use it.

A couple of months ago I taught a workshop on creating vision boards for local female creatives in Riverdale, NY.  It was amazing!

To host this event, I teamed up with my friend Linda Manning – a playwright, screenwriter and actor.

Linda Manning & Stacey Natal

We held it at the KRVC office near Riverdale Avenue.  We had about a dozen people and KRVC was generous to supply the space and refreshments!

It felt so rewarding to create an opportunity for local creatives to come together to connect, establish new relationships and start to intentionally put into place what they’d like to create in their life and business for the upcoming new year.   Linda and I worked really well together – balancing each other out by bringing in our own unique perspectives and interests to create a cohesive inspiring workshop for all that attended.

Linda and I each attend  meetups with other creatives in the city and felt there was a need to bring that same energy here to Riverdale.  As a coach, I’m working with entrepreneurial moms to help them think bigger for their lives and businesses so we wanted to share the techniques we  both use to stay inspired and bust through our limiting beliefs.  It opened up a conversation with the group and allowed for a safe space to share thoughts and ideas.

It was a wonderful experience.  I enjoyed sharing it with everyone.  Stacey and Linda were terrific.  It was lead in such a natural, open and beautiful way — thought provoking and stimulating, definitely meaningful evening for me.  Opened up new ideas.

If you want to get started with your own vision board – (and you definitely should!),  get yourself a board, glue sticks, scissors and some magazines that you can cut up.  There are 4 key areas to think about when creating your vision boards.  I created a PDF for you to download with prompts in each of the 4 key areas.  Click the image below to get a copy and get started.

The Magic of Goal Setting

With a new year only a couple of days away, the topic of goal setting is on most people’s minds – especially if you’re in the entrepreneurial world!

It’s with perfect timing that I get to share an article I wrote for a new online magazine called Mosaic – created by happiness coach Chrissy Gruninger.

The Magic of Goal Setting

The topics in the first issue include:

  • Setting Goals
  • Stepping Out of Our Comfort Zone
  • Picking Ourselves Up When We Fall (Fail)
  • No Regrets

Each contributor shared a personal story with practical tips.  As you’ll see with my story (which starts on page 19), I talk about a goal I had to have my photography work exhibited in a NYC gallery.   I include both the practical as well as magical steps that occurred along the way.

If you’re interested in reading my story and getting tips on goal setting, you can either get it free on itunes or read it in PDF format.

Let me know what you think and I’d love to hear about a goal you’re setting for 2017!

You Snooze, You Lose – Missed Opportunities

You snooze you lose

You snooze, you lose!⠀
⠀
This morning my daughter woke us up at 7:30am (on a Saturday) to inform us that it snowed overnight and she was ready to go out and play.⠀
⠀
I was like wha?!? I was hoping to sleep until at least 8:30!⠀
⠀
I told her no, went back to sleep and got up at 8:30 to do some journaling and the rest of my morning routine.  She was giving me a look so I told her I’d be ready by 10. She wasn’t happy about that and complained but I still kept holding her off.⠀Even though I wanted to go out in the snow (photo opp) there were a few things I wanted to get done before heading out.
⠀
But she was right!  By 10am, the beautiful soft first snow of the season was already turning into sloppy NYC slush because it started to rain!⠀
⠀
I felt really bad because I know she was disappointed and for myself I was looking forward to getting some great photos in.⠀
⠀
Lesson learned in life and biz – seize the opportunities while they are there right in your face!⠀
⠀
If you wait and sit on things long enough, the opportunity will be gone.⠀
⠀
Start practicing making decisions faster and being a quick action taker now – not later!
